Stacia's Birthday

Febuary 1o was Stacia's Birthday. I just have to say that she really is the best sister ever. She is and has always been such a good example to me. I am so happy that we live so close to each other and that I 'm able to see them often (even though it's not often enough). I have always looked up to Stacia. She always looks for the good in anyone(Which is a very rare quality). I am so happy that she was able to welcome baby Taylee into her life. You know good things come to those who wait, and she definitely got something more than great. It's so fun to see what an awesome and loving mother Stacia is. I knew she would be cuz she is such a great school teacher and I know her kids just adore her. How could they not? All of you who know Stacia, know what a wonderful person she is, so I just wanted to give a shout out to my little sis and tell her how much I love and appreciate her. Thanks for everything Stacia! You're the best! What a doll! I know. I took this of sweet baby Taylee when I was watching her the other day. We always have so much fun playing with her. She is such a joy.

Stacia and Taylee came over for dinner on her Birthday. They still look great even though they both have been sick. Happy Birthday Stacia!

Hinder Concert-What a let down

So last Saturday Me,Stacia, Natalie, Leilani, Keri, Robin, and Nicole went to the Hinder concert in St. George. What a disappointment. I've never listened to all of their songs, and apparently the only good songs they sing are the only three songs that I've really heard. The head singer was a total loser. His vocabulary words were very limited, and really not that pleasing to the ears. The music wasn't too bad if he could of just kept his mouth shut in between. The opening bands were really good, actually, they were better than Hinder. It sure was fun being with the girls and having a day out though. Thanks everyone for going! You guys are awesome!
This is the band that opened before Theory of a deadman. They are Veer Union. They sounded really good. The head singers Mohawk was awesome. They definitely have the rocker look down.Nicole, Keri and Robin waiting for the concert to begin.
Stacia and Natalie having a great time.

Here's all of us rocking out. We got to go down on the floor four rows back from the stage. It was fun jumping around and being crazy. Even though the head singer ruined the concert we still managed to have fun. How can you not with such GREAT company!

ROCK ON!
Go Nat and Stacia! Aren't they Cute?
Keri and Robin were letting loose and having fun. We definitely worked up a sweat.

Pictures of Cadence

Here are a couple of pictures that my friend took of Cadence. She does an amazing job! Her website is www.nicolebulkley.com. Isn't she cute?

Cadence's Birthday

My baby is four years old today. I can't believe how fast time flies. It seems just yesterday that she was so little, and now she's a little girl and not a baby. I am so blessed to have Cadence in my life. As much of a surprise that she was, I am so grateful that she came to join our family. I always told everyone that she was sent to me to keep me from going crazy from my other kids, which is true ,and then some. For those of you who know her, she is definitely her own self. She can be really shy and other times be dancing on the table singing at the top of her lungs. She keeps us laughing and greatly entertained. Her favorite colors are red and pink. Her favorite place to eat is McDonald's. ( What a surprise!) Her favorite thing to do is chores with me. (Probably cuz she gets a fruit roll up afterwards) Favorite animals are a pig and chickens. Best friend is Kyle. Favorite thing to play is babies. Favorite toy is Baby Alive. Favorite movie is The little Mermaid. Favorite cartoon is Dora. Cadence loves life and lives it to the fullest. She has been such a great addition to our family. We love her so much. I tried to get some baby pictures to post but it just didn't work out. Most are stuck on our old computer or on film. I love this picture of when she was one. She loves the camera.

Here's the birthday girl showing off yet again. Thanks everyone for all the fun gifts.

Here's the Birthday girl with her Barbie cake. She loves Barbie cakes, even if they are homemade.

This one didn't turn out so great, but I figured it would be devoured soon anyway.

We love you Cadence! Happy Birthday!

Fun at Preschool

Today is Cadence's 4th Birthday, so I decided to volunteer at her preschool. This first picture is a typical Cadence pose. She loves the camera. Stacia gave her this outfit for her Birthday. She loves it! Here's Cadence and her best friend Kyle at school. She always says how much she loves playing with Kyle.

Cadence and Kinsey being silly. Kinsey is Kyler's teachers daughter.

Here's our carpool group. We take turns taking Kaylie and Staelie to school.

This is the new fire engine they just got in one of the play centers at school. The kids have fun playing at this center. Cadence loves school.

The Best Sugar Cookie Recipe

If you're looking for a good soft sugar cookie recipe this is the one. I got this from a friend who got if from someone who tried about 12 different recipes looking for just the right one. Just make sure you don't over bake these. They don't have to be chilled before, but it does help it not be so sticky. The consistency will seem really runny and sticky, but only add enough flour to make them workable. They really taste good if you cook them and freeze the leftovers unfrosted, then just pull out what you need. They really stay moist that way. They are really light and airy and almost melt in your mouth when you eat them. Hope you like these as much as we do. Happy Baking!

Cream together:

1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla or almond
1/4 cup sour cream

Mix dry ingredients and add to sugar mixture:

1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp baking soda
4 tsp baking powder
4 1/2 -5 cups flour

Mixture will be sticky, use a little more flour if needed, but not much. Roll out 1/2-3/4 inch thick and cut out. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 for 10 minutes. Don't overcook. Frost with Wilton frosting when cooled.

Wilton Frosting( Very Delicious with these cookies)

1/2 c. softened real butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp almond extract or vanilla(best with almond)
4 cups powdered sugar
2 Tbsp milk

Cream butter, shortening, and extract. Add 1 cup at a time of powdered sugar. Add milk to desired consistency. Whip on high for about two minutes. Makes 3 cups and keeps 2 weeks in fridge.
